- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale distributed data processing systems.
- Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Expertise in one or more programming languages (preferably Python or Java.)
- Ability to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.

The Associate Big Data Specialist is a one-year program. At the end of the program you will choose a track suited to your strengths and preference. These tracks include:
Data Lake & Analytics Specialist - This role will specifically focus on Data processing capabilities and helping our customers and partners to remove the constraints that prevent our customers from leveraging their data to develop business insights. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
Data Warehouse & MPP Specialist - This role will specifically focus on large scale data warehousing and database migration capabilities. Engagements will include Redshift implementations and helping customers to migrate from their existing on-premises data warehouses using other databases to Amazon Redshift.
Data Engineer - In this role, you will work with our partners, customers and focus on our AWS Analytics service offering such Amazon Kinesis, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, Athena, AWS ML, and more...
IoT Specialist - In this role you will become a trusted adviser to our customers and will work with AWS sales, business development, solution architects, and our IoT service team to drive mobile-related adoption and revenue. This will include showcasing service such as AWS IoT, Cognito, API Gateway, and Lambda.
