Web Merchandiser At Air Canada Vacations

Location: Montréal, Quebec

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Ecommerce, this position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and analytical with an entrepreneurial spirit. This individual must be able to build an operational merchandising plan for the online store, with a focus on emerging product lines such as Canada, Europe and other international destinations. The incumbent will work closely with the Digital Performance Manager and the Search Engine Marketing Manager to optimize the performance of the online inventory based on customer behavior, data and analytics, as well as industry trends and competitive research. The Web Merchandiser will be accountable for ensuring timely and accurate publication of web content and related merchandise assortments.

Tasks

  • Arrange, categorize and cross sell product to drive conversion of vacation packages
  • Improve product findability, increase conversion and streamline the shopping experience
  • Ensure that site navigation and hierarchy are respected and maintained
  • Manage product launch calendar and coordinate with product team to ensure all products launch at the proper time
  • Use web analytics and reporting tools to optimize on site assortment presentation, product recommendations and other automated rules to drive improvements in metrics
  • Optimize Ecommerce and digital marketing performance (ex: overlay strategy) based on brand direction
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, revenue management departments to align and streamline all product merchandising initiatives, as well as align external marketing efforts with on-site merchandising
  • Manage and refresh categories/trends in response to sales trends/results, campaigns, seasonality and buying strategies
  • Provide product and/or collection suggestions to be featured online
  • Monitor and control work daily (e.g., through spot checks, complete review, or subsequent processing) for both quantity and quality.
  • Constantly work to ensure consistency and optimal customer experiences in both the desktop and mobile shopping channels

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or marketing
  • 2 years or more of experience managing web content and/or store merchandising
  • Solid track record of using sales & analytics data to make merchandising decisions.
  • Well organised and meticulous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French)
  • Able to function in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, usability standards & HTML an asset
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to adapt quickly, work independently, multi-task and work under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of web analytics reporting platforms such as Google Analytics
  • Experience with Hybris SAP a plus
