IT Systems Administrator At Air Canada Vacations

Location: Montréal, Quebec

Job Description

The IT System Administrator reports to the Manager, IT Operations. The Information Technology team provides all technological tools and services to internal teams and departments. IT works closely with all the internal teams and external partners to effectively meet and exceed internal clients’ needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all Servers hardware and software are fully operational and take corrective action where necessary
  • Install, Configure, and Administer Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 servers running in a 24x7 environment
  • Administer VMware 6/6.5/6.7 environments
  • Ability to write Windows scripts
  • Administer, configure and manage web servers (IIS, apache, tomcat, jboss)
  • Administer MS Exchange mail servers
  • Administer MS SQL Server 2014+ database servers
  • Maintain and administer domain controllers with MS Active Directory services
  • Maintain and administer Compellent and EquaLogic SAN/NAS devices
  • Administer Citrix XenApp 6/7 farms
  • Perform System Administration tasks including performance tuning, system optimization, disk space planning, print queue management, and job scheduling
  • Manage security functions related to corporate information systems
  • Monitor, identify, and resolve production capacity, contention, and resource deficiencies
  • Support the annual IT Audits in the delivery of required data and procedures to ensure compliance with established corporate general controls and information security policy.
  • Install system patches and updates
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades
  • Document and improve current IT infrastructure, processes and procedures

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • College diploma (or higher) in Computer Sciences
  • MCSA for Windows Server 2012+ (updated)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in System Administration with MS Windows Server complex environments
  • Minimum 3 years experience in management of VMware environments
  • Working experience in System Administration with Redhat Enterprise Linux an asset
  • Knowledge with CommVault Simpana backup software suite an asset
  • Certification with any information security standard an asset
  • Experience with PCI DSS an asset
  • Working experience with Interaction Intelligence VoIP suite CIC and Genesys Pure Connect an asset
  • Working experience with remote desktop support, asset management and patch management tools
  • Experience with one or more diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Gliffy, Confluence)
  • Very good analytical and problem solving skills, with extreme commitment to quality and results
  • Autonomous, dedicated, able to provide on-call 24x7 coverage when required
  • Hands on experience with at least one helpdesk software
  • Extremely organized and diligent in maintaining consistency
  • Continually strives to improve IT’s customer service delivery
  • Eager to learn business priorities and criticality of day to day operations
  • Experience in the travel and tour operator industry an asset
