Reporting to the Manager, Financial Systems, we are looking for a creative individual to participate in the planning, development and ongoing operation of financial systems using new technological processes and procedures. The scope of the position also includes the planning and delivery of support and training services to the financial client groups.

Responsibilities include working with the financial planning and reporting group, the BFO community, subsidiaries and other users to develop and maintain computer applications for Finance including applications and processes for the operation of new subsidiaries/business units. The incumbent will become fully proficient on applications such as Essbase, Hyperion Workspace (WebAnalysis & Financial Reporting), Hyperion Planning, SmartView, HFM and Peoplesoft.
  • Analyze, recommend and implement changes to financial planning and reporting systems and procedures to meet business needs.
  • Assist in the identification, development and implementation of solutions to satisfy the process and system needs of the Finance branch, Subsidiaries and other users of financial data.
  • Support business’ change initiatives, both in the area of software applications and physical processes, to realize cost and quality improvements.
  • Obtain knowledge of and promote/implement “best practices” and process improvements relating to financial systems.
  • Maintain an awareness of new technology solutions and their application in the Air Canada environment.
  • Provide support and act as liaison with Information Technology, as well as the Outsourcer.
  • Represent the financial systems group and the user community on corporate projects and other initiatives, including software upgrades of existing products.
  • Prepare business cases to support changes to financial systems.
  • Ensure that all financial system changes are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Monitor all change requests to ensure appropriate prioritization of outstanding requests; assist in the definition of user acceptance tests and testing of completed changes.

Qualifications

  • University degree or College degree in related fields required.
  • Self starter.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Significant knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Products.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new PC tools and software.
  • Good interpersonal skills / team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure and well organized.
  • Understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • PowerApps, Java and/or JSP knowledge, a definite asset.

LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS
