Reporting to the Manager Airframe Contracts, the Materials Manager – Airframe is responsible for controlling & managing the Air Canada inventory levels at MRO vendors. The incumbent is also responsible for monitoring the cost of vendor material supplied to Air Canada.
Manage the on-site requirements for Customer Owned Property (COP) Stores at Airframe MRO’s
Review COP Inventory Allotment levels, make recommendations to internal stake holders on ideal inventory allotment levels.
Monitor the material costs in relation to Airframe events, advise of discrepancies relative to contract compliance, provide alternate sourcing options.
Follow-up with Material Planning to ensure all required serialized units, consumables and kits are identified with source of supply identified and un-serviceable material disposition.
Review pre-Airframe Maintenance Cabin Audit. Ensure materials secured for each Airframe event.
Coordinate material recall process for COP stores and material requirements for seasonal station start-up/shutdown.
Review and report material key performance index (KPI) with internal stakeholders.
Provide guidance regarding Airframe materials on site requirements to the Manager, Airframe Materials.
Clearly understand all contractual compliance issues related to Airframe materials.
Understand and utilize TRAX, sourcing tools, invoicing tools to ensure Air Canada is getting the most value for the material spend.
Constantly monitor Airframe event material requirements.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness prior to their submission to Air Canada Accounts Payable.
Participate in Quarterly business meetings with the onsite team MRO to identify any issues for further resolution and any opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
Provide guidance to onsite team on sourcing options and pricing abnormalities.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience in an inventory control management role, purchasing or asset management.
Diploma or equivalent experience in inventory control, purchasing or asset management.
Good knowledge of large transport category aircraft spares inventory issues, sources of supply and control processes
Knowledge of logistics processes within an Airline or similar industry
Good knowledge of aviation maintenance inventory Quality Control requirements and processes
Good knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Windows, MS Project
Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills involving data analysis
Demonstrated effective communication ability (verbal and written).
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and with changing priorities.
Knowledge of Transport Canada aviation regulations and norms, would be an asset
Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Maintenance IT systems and TRAX would be an asset
