Manager Product Design - In-Flight Services - Montreal At Air Canada

Accountable for the overall management and compliance of Air Canada’s Customer Product Specifications for Inflight and to provide direction for the implementation of the inflight product specifications at Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express. Additionally, this role will have responsibility for the overall management, design and development of optimized galley space allocation and stowage procedures across the entire fleet for International and North American galleys; Air Canada Mainline, Rouge, Jetz Charters, Air Canada Express aircraft types and will support evaluation of galley specifications for any new aircraft programs.

  • Lead the management of Inflight Product Specifications through collaboration with internal teams (mainly Inflight Service Delivery, Inflight Service bases, Brand management, training, customer service groups)
  • Responsible for on-going competitive and industry benchmarking (includes product testing, data reporting and distribution), to measure Air Canada’s product specifications against the industry and its competition.
  • Make recommendations for the definition and modification of Air Canada’s Inflight product specifications based on analysis that optimizes competitive positioning and customer satisfaction with cost management and profitability.
  • Manage and lead the cross functional implementation of in-flight products and service enhancements.
  • Develop and implement standards and report mechanisms for designated products and services
  • Act as the product specifications representative for product audit teams to ensure compliance and support of products and services.
  • Drive the development, production and implementation of the Air Canada Skyriders program.
  • Manage vendor relationships as required
  • Interface with Winnipeg Finance for all BCC/invoice related expenses
  • Support Product Design projects as assigned
  • Responsible for securing financing for assigned projects (AFC, business case process)
  • Provide direction and oversight to the stowage planning team responsible for the development and implementation of onboard galley and stowage specifications for food, service equipment, bar & beverage and duty-free boutique.
  • Support the evaluation of galley specification for new aircraft programs. Act as the link between Commercial and Operations for IFS and be responsible for developing a Product Design life cycle that takes into account Customer and Employee feedback.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing management of Air Canada’s customer feedback strategy/programs, including customer focus groups, surveys and the Management Travel Survey.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing management of the Air Canada Chef Program and Wine Expert program which takes into account Air Canada’s brand positioning and product offerings.



Qualifications

  • Solid commercial and airline industry experience
  • Knowledge of Air Canada’s products and services
  • Solid understanding of In-Flight service delivery processes and environment
  • Good understanding of airline competitive environment and best demonstrated practices
  • Proven planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to foster cooperation across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Solid leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict situations and bring then to proper and constructive resolution
  • Capacity to manage multiple work demands
  • Self-starter and ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be available for travel
