Oversight and leadership for the "day of" operation for Air Canada, including on-time performance, flight completion, and irregular operations. This encompasses Mainline, Rouge and general oversight for Jazz, Sky Regional, and EVAS. Ensuring that the most robust, efficient operation is executed, and over all schedule integrity is maintained within the SOC "window". Responsible to develop System Operations Control to evolve into the most robust, nimble, efficient operations centre in the Airline industry, while maintaining Air Canada's principles, and priorities.
Develops and Manages the Operational Control team comprised of Operational Control Managers(OCM's), and Managers SOC (MSOC) through feedback, mentoring and Performance Management.
Lead and direct System Operations to ensure absolute efficiency to the Corporate Schedule, ensure alignment of strategic goals set up by Network Planning and Marketing such as capacity management and product offering is delivered.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the operations team to enhance and improve performance. Ensure optimization of "day of" schedule for Air Canada customers.
Interact, support, and liaise with all other areas in the operation, including Airports, Maintenance, Flight Operations, In-Flight Service, International, I.T..
Oversight and leadership of all IROP handling, ( weather disruptions, I.T. Outages, Labour Stikes, etc)to manage impact and ensure protection of our customers.
Oversee, and implement Emergency Response training, as well as play a key role leading the execution for the SOC team, to ensure preparedness.
Hire, develop and recruit for key roles in the SOC organization, including, Operational Control Managers, and Managers, System Operations Control.
Provide analysis, data, and feedback to Corporate scheduling/Network Planning for schedule design and schedule performance.
Organize and participate in Company led special programs (Olympics, New Aircraft deliveries, VIP movements, etc)
Qualifications
- Minimum ten years of operational experience with an International Airline.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- A fundamental working knowledge of the intricacies of designing, maintaining and executing a complex airline schedule.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous Management experience supervising a work group of 10 or more individuals.
- Well versed in NLops, S4A suite of products, and RES III
