MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER
Aiolos is a world leader in the design and construction of wind tunnels and industrial test facilities. Headquartered in Toronto, we create test facilities that meet stringent technical requirements and budget constraints. We ensure complete project success, working with our Clients from initial planning through engineering, construction and commissioning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multi-discipline engineering & design teams from concept to final detailed design
- Conduct design review meetings, internally and with Clients
- Prepare equipment technical specifications
- Interpret and communicate technical details in AutoCAD drawings and Pro Engineer models
- Manage detailed technical interfaces and equipment integration, such as:
- machinery (axial flow fans, compressors)
- large steel fabrications
- civil interfaces with test facility equipment
- electrics (power interfaces, MCCs, VFDs)
- controls (process communications, safety systems, device controls) * Review and respond to equipment technical submittals
- Conduct contractor shop inspections on test facility equipment
- Supervise site installation and equipment integration, instructing contractors and suppliers on site
- Coordinate equipment start-up and integrated testing
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.Sc. in Engineering
- Licensed PEO
- 8 years applying engineering principles in industrial design and fabrications
- 4 years coordinating multi-discipline engineering activities (mechanical, electrical, aerodynamics, controls, thermal)
- Leadership strengths from engineering design to construction supervision
- Analytical skills, able to comprehend complex mechanical, process, electrical and controls drawings, details, and related interfaces
- Able to travel Internationally for long periods
- Strong English oral and written communication
- Additional Languages are an asset
