Reporting to the Manager of IT Infrastructure Support, the Database Administrator manages all of the AIMCo databases (SQL Server & Oracle) and is responsible for ensuring the optimized performance, integrity, and security of all data encompassed within the corporate databases.
The Database Administrator (DBA) is also responsible for building effective and usable databases to support new and existing business applications. The DBA plays a lead role in architecting and designing database technology. The DBA will also provide expertise to the Application Management teams in the creation and maintenance of effective database-coupled application logic, stored procedures, packages and triggers. The DBA is responsible for the promotion of data within all environments, assisting with the provision of test data, assisting with movement of data from one environment to another and ensuring that data is kept confidential and secure.
This position is recognized as the Oracle and SQL Server database expert and plays a major role in the implementation of system development, maintenance, and enhancement initiatives. The DBA leads in the planning and coordinating of new technology upgrades and enhancements with regards to databases. This position is responsible for ensuring that the production application environment is maintained and operational.
Note: Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening, which includes a credit bureau and a criminal record investigation, the results of which must be acceptable to AIMCo.
