Role Summary

The Creative Strategy team is a discipline of creative, responsible for managing the development and presentation of creative concepts. The foundation of the Creative Strategy team lies in creative concept management and brand strategy. The team ensures that every concept developed by EA, whether new business or for an existing account, is purposeful, creative, well presented, supported by strong messaging and backed by strategy to meet client objectives. Every project will be assigned a Lead Strategist who will be responsible for ensuring all of the above.


Primary Responsibilities

Every Creative Strategist must be able to think conceptually and lead design strategic solutions for relevant, motivating brand engagements.

  • New Business

The Creative Strategist will support new business opportunities by leading brainstorms and facilitating the development of visionary, out-of-the-box thinking to design experiences and campaigns. The Strategist must always be critiquing the development of creative through a critical, client focused lens and be a constant "check" against meeting the goals and objectives set by the client through Business Development and Client Services.

  • Live Project

After a project is won, the Lead Strategist will remain on the project and facilitate the creative concept transition to Production and Client Services. The Strategist will always be responsible for presentation of the creative concepts, and facilitate feedback to evolve creative needs. The Strategist will be the key liaison between Designers and ensure that the Design Branch is engaged early to establish a best practice of strategic involvement from those designing for that brand.

  • Communication Strategy

Working closely with Client Services, the Creative Strategy team will contribute to live projects in a content strategy, communication and message development capacity. The Strategist may do this content writing, or they will necessitate the use of a copywriter when appropriate based on budget.

Additional:

  • A Lead Strategist will be assigned to every new business opportunity
  • Lead Strategist should be involved on all kickoff meetings
  • Create the Creative Brief & Brainstorm Agenda in collaboration with the BD/CS Project Lead
  • Collect brainstorm notes and facilitate organization according to the outline and spearhead the list of final concepts from Step 3 in our Process
  • Assist in front-end quoting for creative elements during new business proposals, engage other departments when needed (based on Process Deck)
  • Manage the overall creative package being delivered to ensure it meets all client goals & objectives
  • Write creatively, clearly and concisely, articulating themes and concepts developed by the team and developing agency content
  • Present the creative concepts during client calls
  • Concept ownership as budget scope and new requests change existing projects
  • Support the development of presentations, ensuring the creative meets the EA standards
  • Work closely on video concepts with designers and contractors – serve as point of contact

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of experience in an industry requiring creative concepting, brainstorming and implementation
  • Must have experience working on events for experiential marketing
  • BA or equivalent required in relevant major (advertising, creative writing, marketing)

High proficiency in:

  • Apple Keynote and Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Self-motivation and time management skills required.
  • Must be a clear communicator and consensus builder, highly organized, very detail-oriented and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highest level of professionalism and self-confidence
  • Skilled at presenting ideas clearly and listening effectively
  • Superior time management skills and ability to balance multiple projects
