Regional Sales Director At AFS Logistics

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

Overview

As a seasoned, sales-driven Regional Sales Director, the company relies on this position to drive revenue growth by selling our solutions to qualified prospects and current customers. The person in this position will be responsible for driving new revenue to AFS by generating leads personally and through the company and ultimately meet/exceed monthly sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the AFS Customer Experience with existing/new customers within sales territory
  • Sell in a consultative manner and being well versed in all modes of transportation selling
  • Generate revenue by selling AFS products and services
  • Our Regional Sales Directors are to prospect, attract and secure new clients in their region.
  • Generate leads by cold-calling in assigned areas, asking for customer referrals, attending tradeshows/networking events, and following up on all marketing leads
  • Function as the “face” of AFS and be a contact/advocate to each customer in their respective territory
  • Act as client’s advocate during the development of solutions; works with operations and pricing groups to develop pricing and proposal, reviews proposals with clients and advises client during decision-making process.
  • Lead the entire sales process, which includes Subject Matter Experts in varying disciplines, pricing and operations.
  • Build a cross-functional relationship with all influencers in each account; for example, CFO, VP of Ops, and Warehouse Manager. RSD to assist in customer QBR which will be conducted by Account Manager.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage their customer base. It is expected that each RSD utilize and update salesforce on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in demoing our systems and discuss each service offering in a strategic way

Qualifications

  • Solid sales and transportation knowledge
  • Ability to have broad strategic discussions and gain the confidence of the decision maker on AFS’ ability to serve their needs
  • A strong network of contacts in the transportation industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships with C level decision makers
  • A willingness to prospect for new business
  • Poses the maturity and discipline to work effectively with a minimum of supervision in a unique entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a variety of groups
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with a persuasive personality
  • Superior decision making, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Travel with some overnight stays required.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years or more of Transportation experience in either Managed Transportation sales, 3PL or Brokerage sales
