Regional Sales Manager, Ontario At Afex

Job Description

Position/Job Title: Regional Sales Manager, Ontario


Reporting Line: Sales Director, Americas


Member of: Sales Department


Interacts with: Functional managers of dedicated region


Direct Reports: All Relationship Manager’s & Business Development Executives in Ontario (Toronto & Ottawa locations)


Primary Role:

Guided by AFEX Vision, Mission, Core Values, and the Brand Strategy, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for executing the Company’s Business Plan for their region and for meeting or exceeding AFEX’s short and long term financial objectives of the Commercial business units for the region, which will allow the Company to achieve the overall financial objectives as stated in the AFEX Business Plan.


Financial Responsibility & Accountability:

Responsible for meeting or exceeding AFEX’s short and long term sales business targets and financial objectives within assigned purview.


Personnel Responsibility & Accountability:

Leader and manager of regional sales teams. Provide team leaders with necessary tools and guidance to effectively do their job.

Work with Sales Managers to effectively hire, develop, train and retain team in accordance with AFEX guidelines.

  • Follow company policy in regards to HR standards and the Annual Review process specifically pertaining to goal setting, performance management and annual reviews.
  • Foster open environment through idea sharing and active listening resulting in positive employee relations and improved financial results
  • Work with executives focusing on:
    • Attaining, servicing and retaining customers
    • Establishing and meeting KPI’s as set by company
    • Maintain and manage attrition
    • Target set against delivery channel
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with company policy, resulting in operational excellence and efficiencies
  • Create succession plan and make it an active part of the AFEX Culture
  • Be an Ambassador for AFEX’s Culture with the team, within the company, and with external contacts
  • Serve as a role model for others by modeling professionalism, poise and composure


Communications, Responsibility & Accountability:

Dynamically and effectively work with General Manager and participate in Regional Committee meetings (local matrix group) and ensure open flow of communication;

  • Maintain and interactive relationship with Global Portfolio Manager
  • Ensure that CRM and other Company IT initiatives are used properly and to their fullest potential.
  • Actively maintain corporate language
  • Actively advocate and show leadership to staff regarding customer service to our external and internal clientele
  • Communicate results to staff


Authority:

Authorized to make decisions within accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Authority to go to matrix partners within the region for decisions outside direct authority.
  • Authorized to perform disciplinary actions within their purview and in cooperation with HR.


Accountability:

Accountable to achieve gross revenue and net profit targets

  • Accountable to staff they serve
  • Accountable to company KPI’s


Required Experience
  • 5+ years of sales management experience
  • Foreign Exchange product knowledge an asset
  • University or College degree required
  • Substantiated interest in AFEX services and products, the foreign exchange markets and the SME business sector.
  • Previous outbound business-to-business phone marketing or sales experience an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well versed in the usage of Microsoft Office products, Excel databases and CRM systems.
