Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to municipal wastewater treatment design and construction administration activities. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
+ Perform municipal wastewater treatment plant site investigations, data collection and analysis activities.
+ Prepare technical memoranda, contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports.
+ Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies.
+ Participate in wastewater engineering/process design activities including preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications and cost estimates.
+ Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with coordination tasks.
+ Participate in contract administration services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
+ Bachelor of Engineering (or Bachelor of Science in Engineering) degree in Chemical, Environmental or equivalent
+ Eligible for Engineer in Training (EIT) license by PEO
+ Proficient in the use of desktop computational tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, etc
+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation) is an asset.
+ Excellent written skills need to support development of technical reports and specifications
+ Municipal engineering design and construction experience a benefit
+ Ability to work independently
+ Ability to multi-task on several projects concurrently
+ Strong oral communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
+ ON Class G Driving license required
+ 1+ years of experience in water /wastewater engineering
+ Previous work experience in the field of municipal wastewater is an asset
